Wednesdays
from 2-5 pm

Ages 10-16

W.I.L.D. – Wilderness Instruction and Leadership Development is TerraTime’s outdoor program designed for children aged 10-16.

This immersive experience offers children the opportunity to learn essential wilderness skills, boost their confidence, and develop leadership qualities through engaging, hands-on activities in nature.

W.I.L.D. encourages children to step away from distractions and engage in meaningful learning that transcends traditional classrooms and screens.

Here’s what your child can look forward to:

- Leadership challenges that promote personal growth

- Practical skills like knot-tying and first aid

- Navigation expertise using maps and compasses

- Critical survival skills such as fire building and shelter creation

- Enhanced teamwork and problem-solving capabilities

Aligned with TerraTime’s core learning philosophies, this program emphasizes child-led exploration, empowering children to develop skills at their own pace and according to their personal interests.

Join us for an adventure that fosters growth, resilience, and a lifelong appreciation for the great outdoors!

Forest Trees

“The opportunity you provide is unique - I haven't come across anything else like it, even being from the land of camps in and around DC.

Growing up I was always fascinated by nature and always took opportunities to be outside when I could.  A love of nature is what got me where I am today, and I know you are making a difference in kids' lives through this exposure to the outdoors, as well as giving them agency and less structure.

You've created a wonderful environment for them to learn and grow. Thanks again for another great year!”
